Savior or mercy killer? (Alex's post)

Adjusting his old police jacket as he quickly jogged through the park or what used to be a park. With every other step under his feet crunches of broken glass stuck to his boots and he knew that the sun was about to go down. There were enough “walkers” in the daytime, let alone at night. Almost half way through the park, with the water fountain with no water, hearing a scream in the distance then making him stop in place. Letting out an annoyed sigh and he turned to his right from where the scream came from. The cool badge’s metal pressed against his skin that was inside his jacket and knew that he had to help. Sprinting full speed towards the screams as they slowly got louder and more scared by the second. There “they” were, the walkers, and they’re hungry.

The man was swinging around a baseball bat, knocking back a few of them, and was walking back into a corner. With a light click, he slid out his pistol and pointed at the walker in the back of the crowd. He pulled the trigger back with relative ease and with a bang as the bullet shot forward. His handgun shot up from the recoil and the bullet made direct contact with the man’s nape, back of his neck. The thing let out a groan, which almost seemed like it was annoyed, and turned around facing Alex now. One by one, they turned away from the man and started limping towards him with their mouth open. As thirty or forty of them were slowly limping towards them and they just saw their dinner for today.

Shooting out five more bullets out and all of them made direct contact with their face making four of them collapse on the ground. Going onto his knees, he rolled backwards and extended his arms pointing at a zombie slowly crawling towards him. He barely noticed the recoil as he did before. The one shot easily took out the man, causing the zombie to lay on the ground bleeding to “death”. Using his left elbow and legs to push him back a few feet as raised the gun towards the zombie on his left. With one shot the zombie, the zombie was down and for the count. He pushed himself off the ground as he looked at the survivor he saved and was annoyed he just stood there. He walked over there as he took his time and let out a sigh once he was in front of the man. The man extended his hand filled with money and then Alex just snatched the money out of his hands and said “Your welcome.” As he pointed toward the exit so he wouldn’t have to save the man again.

Rolling his eyes, Alex turned away and right in front of him was what he feared. Quickly shoving his pistol in the man’s gut and pulled the trigger as many times as he could. After the first shot all he heard was “Click” and that was one of the things survivors feared most of all. The zombie was pushed back a few feet but quickly moved towards him, almost running towards Alex. Dropping his gun, he swung a high kick to the zombies face with full force and had full know age that walkers couldn’t fight. The kick made direct contact with his face and crunched his neck turning it around 360 and knew that zombie is dead from that. The torn up zombie collapsed onto Alex and with the force of gravity, he completely fell on him. He attempted to push the man off causing the body to roll over and quickly jumped to his feet. That zombie could come back alive any second and he’s not willing to risk a bite from a simple walker. Alex brushed tried to brush the blood that went on his jacket and sighed because this is the only one he has. He glared at the body, seeing the body had a police uniform on, and let out a sigh. “I’m sorry, my fellow police officer.” He walked away from the body because he knows that the body will just annoy him more then he could afforded. A spark went in his brain and made him groan in annoyance because he almost forgot what he was doing before. He started in a jog and headed towards the north gate of the park. He would just have to accept this is how the world is now and it’s not as nice or pretty as it was but this is sadly one thing he just couldn’t accept. The death of a comrade is hard, even if he never knew him, to Alex because death is one thing he just can’t accept and in this world, it makes it hard to live.
